My Today's experience

My participation in the Using ICTs for election coverage workshop organised by African Election has been so enriching for me. I first created my blog in May 2007, which means it has taken tweo years nopw without uploading it. but today i have learnt new skills like uploading pictures and videos which i know can make the blog nice. The facilitator, Kwami (in the picture) has been good, indeed.

The new tricks/skills that i have learnt will inspire me to begin regularly updating the blog.

Malawi Map

This the map for Malawi
The 2009 presidential and general elections are just around the corner. Tempers are flaring among the aspirants. Campaigns are becoming hot. From time to time, i hear many aspirants launching football trophies for young people in their constituencies, a campaign tool that is becoming common.

But one interesting thing is that all of these aspirants will tell the public that there are doing that in order to reduce immoral behaviour among the youth, as a way of preventing them from contracting the hiv virus. They argue that the youth would be spending much of their time playing/wathing football instead of engaging in immoral behaviour. Wow!

The truth of the matter is that they do these to campaign, period! There is no research so far that really shows that when you bring young people together and let them play football, it would prevent them from indulging in immoral behaviour. In fact, it might even worsen the situation unless if there is indeed some monitoring mechanism to check that when you bring young people together they will not engage in sex.
